Roy G. Wells, age 67 of Symsonia, passed away on June 13th at 7:29 p.m. at his home with his family by his side.
He was born December 30, 1953 in Paducah, Kentucky the son of the late Roy Naylor and Dorothy Brown Wells.
Roy fought a hard, long battle with COPD for over 15 years. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Roy worked as a Truck Driver most of his life, and he never met a stranger. He had a big heart and would help anyone he could. During the last years of his life he was able to spend a lot of time with his grandchildren. They were able to create a great bond with one another that will never be forgotten. He loved his family and enjoyed collecting baseball cards, watching Nascar racing, golfing and riding motorcycles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Roy Lee Wells and three sisters, Patricia Stembridge, Jean Wells and Freida Tatum. He is survived by a daughter, Joe Lane Beeler of Symsonia; a sister, Mary Smothers of Benton; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
We will be having a private celebration of life with family.
